Agricultural & Forestal Districts Committee
The Agricultural and Forestal Districts Advisory Committee advises the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors as to the nature of farming, forestry, and agricultural and forestal resources within the county’s established Agricultural and Forestal Districts (AFDs).

Architectural Review Board
The Architectural Review Board (ARB) administers the requirements of the Historic Preservation Overlay (HPO) District of the Hanover County Zoning Ordinance.

The purpose of the Board of Equalization is to review real estate assessments and is the second step in the mandated appeal process required by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) decides requests for variances from specific requirements of the county zoning ordinance. The BZA also decides appeals of decisions made by the zoning administrator regarding zoning ordinance interpretations.

The purpose of the Cannery Advisory Committee is to assist staff in developing plans and methods to best utilize the Cannery facility.

Capital Area Agency on Aging Board of Directors
The Capital Area Agency on Aging offers a comprehensive range of home and community-based services for seniors age 55 and older, caregivers and persons with disabilities in the City of Richmond and the Counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, and Powhatan.

The purpose of the Capital Region Airport Committee is long range planning and bond issues and promotion of Richmond International Airport.

The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) is a public service authority that implements solid waste management and recycling programs for thirteen local governments.

Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee
This committee is comprised of Hanover residents who meet with citizens from the City of Richmond and counties of Chesterfield and Henrico.

Community Criminal Justice Board
The responsibility of the Board is to advise on the development and operation of local community based probation services and pretrial services.

Community Development Committee
Composed of Hanover Board of Supervisors members, the role of the Community Development Committee is to review policy matters that are related to the Community Development Departments and related agencies (Building Inspections, Planning, Public Utilities, Public Works, and Virginia Department of Health).

Community Policy & Management Team
The Community Policy and Management Team functions to create, maintain, and manage a collaborative system of services and funding that is child-centered, family-focused and community-based when addressing the strengths and needs of troubled at-risk youth and their families.

Community Services Board
The purpose of this Board shall be to act as the agent of Hanover County, Virginia, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the establishment and operation of community mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance use disorder services.

Economic Development Authority
The Economic Development Authority was established by ordinance of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors pursuant to the Industrial Development and Revenue Bond Act so that such authorities may acquire, own, lease and dispose of properties to the end that such authorities may be able to promote industry and develop trade by inducing manufacturing, industrial, governmental and commercial enterprises to locate in or remain in the commonwealth.
