Terms of Service
The Metropolitan Richmond Air Quality Committee (MRAQC) is the Lead Planning Organization (LPO) for the Richmond region and was established pursuant to Section 174 of the federal Clean Air Act as amended (CAA).
The committee works with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) as a planning body to assist DEQ in developing and implementing policies to improve the air quality in the region. The committee consists of one primary member and one alternate from Charles City, Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico and Prince George counties, the cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Petersburg and Richmond, the Richmond Area and Tri-Cities Area Metropolitan Planning Organizations, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, the Virginia Department Environmental Quality, and the Virginia Department Transportation.
