CPMT functions to create, maintain, and manage a collaborative system of services and funding that is child-centered, family-focused and community-based when addressing the strengths and needs of troubled at-risk youth and their families.

The powers and duties of the Hanover CPMT are set forth in VA Code § 2.2-5206 and include the development of interagency policies and procedures to govern the provision of services and resources as well as the coordination of long-range, community-wide planning for eligible populations of children and families in the community. Hanover CPMT also develops interagency fiscal policies governing access to the state pool of funds, in addition to authorizing and monitoring the expenditure of those funds by the Hanover Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT). The Hanover CPMT serves as the community’s liaison to the Office of Children’s Services for At-Risk Youth and Families, reporting on programmatic and fiscal operations and on recommendations for improving the service system. The CPMT also collects, analyzes and reviews data, as requested by the Office of Children’s Services for At-Risk Youth and Families, to help evaluate child and family outcomes and public and private provider performance in the provision of services to children and families through the Children’s Services Act (CSA) program.

Board - Staff, with Citizen Representation

Hanover CPMT, as appointed by the Hanover County Board of Supervisors, includes one appointed official (Deputy County Administrator) and the agency head or designee of the following community agencies: Hanover Community Services Board, Hanover Juvenile Court Services Unit, Chickahominy Health District, Hanover Department of Social Services, and Hanover County Public Schools. The team also includes one representative of a private provider for child/family services and a private citizen who serves as a parent representative.
